Art for Decompression
Just in time for the holiday season, an experiential workshop about using drawing, painting, collage, creative writing, and journaling to support stress relief, relaxation, and rejuvenation. This all-levels workshop will guide you through how to use creative activities to promote wellness and self-care. We’ll also go over variations, adaptations, and how to combine activities to meet different needs. Leave with a handful of calming tools that you can turn to, again and again. Activities will span the range of short (<5 minutes), medium (5-15 minutes), and long (20+ minutes), so that you have options no matter how much time you have. No experience with any of these creative forms is necessary! Our emphasis will be on playfulness, openness, curiosity, and experimentation.
Please bring a notebook or blank paper, drawing or painting supplies, a pen, and any collage materials you have on hand. We'll also have drawing, painting, and collage supplies available.
“This was so meditative! I feel calmer.”
"I wasn't feeling great but I came because I knew it would feel good .. and it did!! I'm not someone who is very comfortable with art and I loved it. I didn't want to stop!"
