Description: Sandra will paint a portrait of a sitter in 3 hours while explaining her process, the thinking behind her decisions, and answering any questions that pop up from the audience. She’ll go over things like: selecting the color palette, working with oils, establishing the underpainting, picking brushes, tips and tricks for painting heads, capturing someone’s likeness, finishing the painting, etc… Come sit and watch while she paints and answers any questions you might have about it!
Bio: Sandra Lanz Sánchez-Penichet (b. 1987) is a contemporary Cuban-American painter best known for her colorful head-and-shoulders portraits. Specializing in oil on panel, her work is characterized by robust palettes, energetic brushstrokes, and sketch-like linework.
