Hello all, This is an invitation to participate in an art salon at Ulna Studio from 5:30-7:30 pm on Friday, May 22nd. You are invited to bring one piece of art to hang on the wall (or place on an easel) during the salon. Note: you must be the keeper of your art- and you are responsible for taking it with you when you leave the event. Please sign up here if you plan to share art! Scroll down if you have questions. What is an art salon? For the purpose of our event, a salon is defined as a gathering of artists and art lovers to share, discuss, and critique art in a supportive environment. The goal is to foster community connection, share ideas, and support each other in creative community. Simply bring a piece of art in progress or finished to share.

How can I help, volunteer? If you’d like to help out? Email jolynafry@gmail.com and let Jolyn know you'd like to help with door duty, snacks, or clean up. They will be in touch!
How big can the art be? 4ft or smaller
Do I have to attend the whole event? You can come late or leave early, but take your art with you when you go.
Do I need to title my art? No, but you may label your art as you like
Is art for sale? This is your decision
Why is the theme soft? We are all dealing with a lot right now, the theme GROWTH is an invitation for softness, tenderness in a safe, creative space. Passion, anger, and vulnerability are all invited. Growth is an interpretation. Up, down, here or there…growth looks different for each of us.
What is the purpose of this? connection, discussion, visibility
Can I leave my art behind and pick it up later? No, you must be the keeper of your art- and you are responsible for taking it with you when you leave the event.
May I invite friends and family, etc.? YES! Friends and guests do not need to sign up or pay. You are welcome to just show up as a guest if you don’t want to share art.
May I invite other artists to participate? Yes, forward them this post and ask them to register!

About our classroom space: Masks will be optional, and we ask that you do not come to class if you are feeling sick. Ulna Studio is a creative space located on the 2nd floor of the Portland Storage Building at 215 SE Morrison St. There is a stairway for arrival to your in-person event. Students will leave class via a staircase.
